You’re probably wondering why there is a page in English on the site of a WordCamp in Lisbon, Portugal. Let us explain:
- Lisbon is a very cosmopolitan european city (arguably the coolest city in Europe, these days 🙂 ), where most, if not all, WordPress enthusiasts are fluent in (at least) English. In previous editions we had dozens of attendees from other countries. Past speakers include Drew Strojny, Scott Berkun and Isaac Keyet and previous sponsors WangGuard, Woo Themes, GetShopped, VaultPress, Polldaddy, Merchsupply.com and many others.
- In keeping with the Portuguese sea-faring tradition, it is also the home of a very active WordPress community, with very strong ties to users, designers and developers all around the world.
- We like to think that the city is one of the places in Europe which you simply must visit. Don’t take our word for it, by all means, take a peak at what the New York Times has to say about Lisbon.
In short: we’d love to have you come and attend, sponsor and possibly speak at WordCamp Lisbon 2015, scheduled for May 16th, 2015.
You are likely already familiar with WordCamps and with how exhilarating they can be. We can safely guarantee that you’ll have a good time, meet extraordinary people, eat amazing food and all in all experience an unique city.
“Oh, but what will I eat”, you ask. No worries, Anthony Bourdain has got you covered 🙂
