Contributor Day at WordCamp is a brilliant opportunity to give back to WordPress; the open source project that powers over 40% of the web and thrives on community collaboration. It’s a day to connect, learn, and contribute through activities like programming, translation, design, project management, and content creation.
At WordCamp Lisboa 2025, we’re expanding this tradition with our Community and Contribution Day: a day not just for hands-on contribution, but also for reflection and discussion about the future of our community.
The usual contribution tables will be open throughout the entire day, with a relaxed and inclusive format focused on areas such as translation, design, and security. Whether you’re a seasoned contributor or just curious about how you can help, you’re welcome to bring your laptop and join in at any time.
But that’s not all.
At 11:30 AM, we’ll welcome Steve Mosby, one of the Lead Organisers of WordCamp Europe 2025, for a special talk titled “Stronger together: WordCamps and the future of our Community”. Steve will reflect on the unique role of WordCamps and Meetups in building real-world connections, highlight the importance of volunteer-run events, and share behind-the-scenes insights to inspire more people to get involved.
Following Steve’s talk, we’ll host a panel discussion on the future of the WordPress Portugal community. This will be an open conversation with members of the community about how we can grow, collaborate, and shape what comes next — together.
So, do you fancy helping shape the future of WordPress and the Portuguese WordPress community? Come get involved!
