    We’re excited to share the final group of speakers joining us at WordCamp Lisboa 2025! These talks explore powerful tools and emerging trends in WordPress – from AI-assisted development, to the WordPress Playground, to automated testing workflows.

    Let’s meet them:


    Shadi Sharaf

    Shadi is a software engineer with over 20 years of experience, much of it focused on WordPress. He is passionate about growth, processes, standards, and high-performing teams. In his talk, “10x Engineering with AI Workflows”, Shadi will present a practical, jargon-free approach to using Artificial Intelligence to drastically improve the development workflow. He’ll share tips on how to generate plugin and theme code faster, debug more intelligently, and automate repetitive tasks.

    Uros Tasic

    Uros Tasic is a developer with a strong focus on code and infrastructure optimisation. Organiser and frequent speaker at WordCamps, he is an active contributor to the WordPress community. In his workshop, “Mastering WordPress Playground: Elevate Your Plugin and Theme Release Process”, Uros will show how to take full advantage of WordPress Playground to streamline the release of plugins and themes.

    Cyrille Coquard

    Cyrille Coquard

    Cyrille is a software engineer focused on architecture and WordPress development. He began his WordPress journey in Thailand, worked with French startups, and now is part of the WP Media team, where he helps develop advanced plugin solutions.In the workshop “Test plugin: get hands on experience”, Cyrille will guide participants through setting up a simple workflow with automated testing, while avoiding common pitfalls.

    Today we’re announcing another set of creative problem-solvers joining us at WordCamp Lisboa 2025! This group brings deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience with everything from the Interactivity API and Gutenberg custom blocks to smart task scheduling in WordPress.

    Milana Cap

    Milana is a WordPress engineer at XWP, freelancer at Toptal, a representative of the WordPress Documentation Team, and held leadership roles in the WordPress releases from versions 5.8 to 6.2. She helped organize some of the community’s biggest events, such as WordCamp Europe 2018 and 2019. In her session, “WordPress Gems for Devs: Interactivity API”, Milana will explore this new API inspired by Symfony’s Live Components, designed for speed, extensibility, and server-side rendering.

    Ryan Welcher

    Ryan is a Developer Advocate sponsored by Automattic, focused on making it easier for developers to work with Gutenberg and WordPress. Ryan will give a presentation as well as a workshop titled “Connecting Custom Fields – From Meta Boxes to Blocks and Beyond”, where he will show you how to integrate custom fields into the modern WordPress editor experience. From using Core APIs to integrating tools like ACF, SCF, or Pods, and leveraging block bindings, you’ll learn how to create seamless editorial experiences with native block integration.

    Nemanja Cimbaljevic

    Nemanja is a full-stack WordPress developer from Belgrade, Serbia, with nearly two decades of experience in PHP development and performance optimization. In his session, “Crond Service, WP Cron and Why Action Scheduler Does It Better”, Nemanja will explore the strengths and weaknesses of three scheduling tools: crond, wp-cron, and Action Scheduler. With a focus on real-world use cases—like syncing 100,000 products daily—he’ll explain how Action Scheduler stands out, how to implement it effectively, and why the best approach often involves using all three together.

    A writer and cybersecurity specialist with extensive experience in the tech field, Lucas focuses on Information Security, Big Data, and Data Privacy, combining technical expertise with a practical and educational approach. In his session in portuguese, “Desmistificando a Cibersegurança no WordPress: Proteção Inteligente para o Seu Site” (Demystifying WordPress Cybersecurity: Smart Protection for Your Site), he will show that security goes far beyond plugins. The talk will cover advanced configurations, hardening practices, and continuous monitoring, offering effective strategies to protect your site against threats. A must-attend session for anyone looking to strengthen their WordPress security.

    Steve Mosby

    Steve is a finance professional who runs his accounting business in the UK using WordPress. He has been an organiser of WordCamp Europe for several years, with a passion for community and collaboration. In his session held in the Community and Contribution day, “Stronger Together: WordCamps and the Future of Our Community”, Steve will highlight how WordCamps unite people, share insights from behind the scenes, and inspire others to get involved in organising local events.

    José Freitas

    José Freitas is a marketing and communication specialist who has been building WordPress websites since 2008. An active member of the community, he has organised and volunteered at several WordCamps, including leading roles at WordCamp Europe 2022 and 2023. Founder of Kaksi Media, he helps businesses strengthen their online presence through optimised websites and tailored digital marketing strategies. In his session in portuguese, “28 de Junho está a chegar: Os teus sites estão prontos para a Lei de Acessibilidade?” (June 28 Is Coming: Are Your Sites Ready for the Accessibility Law?), José will explain the impact of the new European Accessibility Act coming into effect in 2025. He’ll cover who is affected, how to ensure legal compliance, and how accessibility can become a competitive advantage.

    Artur Azevedo

    Artur Azevedo is a web designer, founder of the wine club VirguWines, and host of the N2Vinho podcast. In his session in portuguese,  “WooCommerce: Como ajudou no sucesso online do meu negócio” (WooCommerce: How it helped the online success of my business), Artur will share how he runs his business built on WooCommerce and the advantages of using WordPress as a core tool. The talk aims to inspire the audience to make the most of the platform and pursue their own entrepreneurial journey.

    Maylén García

    Maylén is a creative designer in constant evolution, always learning and exploring new ideas. She’s passionate about creating memorable designs and sharing her knowledge to help and inspire others. She is also an organizer and speaker at WordCamps across Spain and part of the leadership team at Elementor Spain. In her session, “Designing before implementing is not double work”, she will break the myth that planning and designing before implementation is a waste of time. She’ll show how strategic design done in advance can save resources, prevent mistakes, and lead to more polished results. A talk on how to turn complex processes into clear, effective solutions—viewing design as an investment, not a cost.

    João Lúcio

    João is a designer with experience in creating corporate brands, online communication, website design, and advertising production.  In his session in portuguese, “Optimizar imagens para a web: Uma perspetiva WordPress” (Optimizing images for the web: A WordPress perspective), João will address the importance of images in user experience and how their optimization directly impacts website performance. Focusing on WordPress, he will share techniques and best practices for resizing, compressing, and selecting the right file formats to ensure faster and more efficient browsing.

    Fellyph Cintra

    Fellyph is a Google Developer Expert with over 18 years of experience, passionate about education and technology. Over the past year, he has contributed to Google’s Privacy Sandbox initiative. He is an experienced speaker on topics such as UI and Artificial Intelligence. In his talk, “Enhance Your WordPress Applications with AI Services”, he will explore the potential of AI in WordPress, highlighting the AI Playground. This session will undoubtedly be valuable for developers, designers, and website owners looking to integrate the latest AI innovations into their projects.

    Samuel Silva

    Samuel is a WordPress specialist, always eager to learn, collaborate, and support the WordPress community. He specializes in backend development and client communication—skills that have evolved through his experience as a freelancer. In his talk, “WordPress REST API: Turning Your Site into a Powerful Data Provider”, he will demonstrate how to turn a WordPress site into a data source for web and mobile applications. He will cover creating custom endpoints, caching for performance, and secure authentication, along with best practices and a real-world case study.

    Nadir Seghir

    Nadir is a software engineer working on the new WooCommerce checkout process. Before joining Automattic, he contributed to the Gutenberg project and worked as a freelance WooCommerce developer. In his talk, “WooCommerce Checkout Block, What You Missed!”, he will showcase all the features and improvements of the new WooCommerce Checkout block, comparing it to the shortcode version. The session will cover four years of evolution, including design improvements, conversion enhancements, shipping features, and upcoming planned features.

    Anne-Mieke Bovelett

    Anne Bovelett helps businesses unlock hidden revenue through digital accessibility and smarter tooling. With extensive experience in WordPress and UX, she shows how accessible design improves conversions and compliance without added complexity. In her talk titled “Where does your time (and money) go? rethinking the true cost of your WordPress stack, she challenges web professionals to rethink their workflow and stop accepting inefficiency as a business cost.     Gemny Ibarra

    Gemny has a hybrid background, combining experience in development and OSB consultancy with training in coaching and agile methodologies. In her talk, “Power Your WordPress Development with Automation”, she’ll show how automation can transform the way you work with WordPress—streamlining key processes like content creation, article publishing, and social media sharing. She’ll demonstrate how to cut down hours of manual work into just minutes of automated efficiency – all without needing advanced technical knowledge!

    Luís Semedo

    Luís has been working with WordPress for over 10 years, dedicating his time to helping the community make the most of the platform. He organises WordPress Meetups in Rotterdam, has volunteered at several WordCamps, and was part of the organising team for two WordCamps in the Netherlands. In his talk in Portuguese, “Como Otimizei o meu workflow na Era Gutenberg: Design, Blocos e GitHub” (How I Optimised My Workflow in the Gutenberg Era: Design, Blocks and GitHub), he’ll demonstrate how to integrate design, development, and version control into a streamlined Gutenberg workflow. He’ll show how to use the block editor to build layouts, extract and optimise the generated code, and implement it within a GitHub version control system – making it easier to collaborate and maintain blocks over time.

    Ana Aires, with a background in Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, has worked with companies like YDreams and the European Space Agency. She co-founded Widgilabs, contributing to high-traffic publications like Observador and ECO. An active WordPress community member, she’s organized WordCamps and spoken at various events. Her presentation in Portuguese, ‘Liderar Sem Pedir Permissão: Como o Caráter Forja Verdadeiros Líderes’ (‘Leading Without Permission: How Character Forges True Leaders’), explores leadership beyond titles. She shares insights on initiative, value creation, and inspiring others in the WordPress world.

    Zé Fontainhas

    Zé Fontainhas is the founder of Oficina WP, specializing in WordPress maintenance for SMEs. He’s a Senior WordPress Developer with extensive experience in scalable web solutions. A dedicated community advocate, he helped create WordCamp Europe. His presentation in Portuguese, ‘WordPress em DIY é como um iceberg: um guia para navegar a parte submersa, em lingua de humanos’ (WordPress in DIY is like an iceberg: a guide to navigating the submerged part, in human language), guides those building sites without expert help. He’ll explain critical decisions and when to seek professional assistance.

    Fábio Nunes

    Fábio Nunes, a developer since 2015, specializes in WordPress themes and plugins. He founded WPlus in 2018, where he is the Owner & Developer. Born in 1994 and residing in Seixal, he’s passionate about technology and roller hockey. His presentation in Portuguese, ‘E se acontecer o inesperado? Garante que os teus clientes não ficam desamparados’ (‘What if the unexpected happens? Ensure your clients are not helpless’), discusses contingency planning for client accounts. He shares practical examples for safeguarding client domains and hosting.
